Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before booking any experience with Alleppey Tourism.

Short version:Book honestly, treat our team and waterways with respect, and contact us early if your plans change. We'll always do our best to work with you.
1. Acceptance of Terms
Agreement
By using the Alleppey Tourism website, making a booking inquiry, or confirming a booking via WhatsApp, phone, or any other channel, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with a booking.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Bookings and Confirmations
Booking Process
A booking is confirmed only after you receive a written confirmation from Alleppey Tourism via WhatsApp or email, and any applicable advance payment has been received. Verbal agreements or informal messages do not constitute a confirmed booking.
Accuracy of Information
You are responsible for providing accurate travel dates, guest count, and contact details at the time of booking. Errors in booking details may result in unavailability or additional charges.
Pricing
All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (₹) and are subject to change without notice until a booking is confirmed. Confirmed booking prices will not change unless you modify the booking.
3. Payments
Advance Payment
Most experiences require an advance payment of 25–50% to confirm the booking. The balance is payable on arrival or as specified at the time of booking. Payment methods will be communicated during confirmation.
Currency
All transactions are in Indian Rupees (INR). International guests are responsible for any currency conversion fees charged by their bank or payment provider.
Receipts
A payment receipt will be issued for all advance payments. Please retain this for your records and present it on arrival if requested.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation by Guest
Cancellations made 7 or more days before the scheduled date: full refund of advance payment. Cancellations 3–6 days before: 50% of advance payment refunded. Cancellations within 48 hours: no refund. No-shows: no refund.
Cancellation by Alleppey Tourism
In the rare event we must cancel your booking due to circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund or an alternative experience of equal value. We will notify you as early as possible.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for cancellations or changes caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to severe weather conditions, floods, government restrictions, natural disasters, or public health emergencies. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule, but refunds cannot always be guaranteed.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days via the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank.
5. Guest Conduct
Respectful Behaviour
We expect all guests to treat our staff, boat operators, guides, and fellow travellers with respect. Abusive, threatening, or discriminatory behaviour is grounds for immediate termination of service without refund.
Alcohol and Substances
Consumption of alcohol is permitted on private houseboats within reasonable limits. We reserve the right to deny service or terminate a booking if a guest's behaviour endangers themselves, others, or our vessels.
Environmental Responsibility
Alleppey's backwaters are a protected ecosystem. Guests must not litter, disturb wildlife, or engage in any activity that harms the environment. Violations may result in booking termination and reporting to local authorities.
6. Liability and Safety
Safety Instructions
All guests must follow safety instructions provided by our staff, boat captains, and guides at all times. Life jackets and safety equipment must be worn when instructed.
Limitation of Liability
Alleppey Tourism acts as an intermediary between guests and local operators. While we vet all operators, we are not directly liable for incidents arising from operator negligence. However, we will always assist in resolving disputes and, where possible, offer remediation.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, and personal liability before travelling to Kerala.
Health and Fitness
Certain activities such as kayaking and speedboat tours require a basic level of physical fitness. Guests with significant health conditions should consult a physician before participating. We reserve the right to refuse participation if we believe it poses a safety risk.
7. Intellectual Property
Website Content
All content on the Alleppey Tourism website — including text, photographs, logos, and design — is the property of Alleppey Tourism and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written permission.
User Content
By sharing photos or reviews of your experience with us, you grant Alleppey Tourism a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content for promotional purposes on our website and social media, with credit given where possible.
8. Governing Law
Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from bookings with Alleppey Tourism shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Alappuzha, Kerala.
